Business Profile

About Us Whitworth Community High School - graded 'Good' by Ofsted in December 2014; best ever English GCSE results, best ever GCSE Maths A*-A grades; ambitious, caring, committed to academic excellence and 'Climbing Higher.' Now is a great time to join us.

77% of students achieved at least a C grade in GCSE English and 20% achieved A*-A in Maths; 23% of all students gained at least 3 A*/A GCSE passes and 46% at least 1 A*/A GCSE pass.

As an ambitious school we are on an exciting journey - achieving new heights; pursuing new goals; setting ourselves greater challenges to ensure our school community continues to move forward.

Ofsted say: 'Students achieve well across the school..... Progress is good... Teaching over time is good.' Students 'talk excitedly about the improvements seen in the school... they talk about being listened to, cared for and respected by their teachers.' Students 'are immensely proud of their school. They consider it to be like a family and wear their uniform with pride.' Ofsted's Safeguarding team found that 'The work the school does to keep its pupils safe is exemplary... this is a school that values individuals, recognising that everyone is different but equal.'

Our effective rewards systems; improved learning facilities; increased challenge for our most able students; restorative practices; our new PE kit and our new school logo have all been driven by stakeholder voice - not least by our inspirational School Council who have such a clear vision of where they want our school to be.

Home Learning booklets and Learning Journals strengthen the home/school partnership and promote independent learning. Our 7 Respects underpin our ethos and define the high expectations we have of all our students.

'I've been so pleased with how my child has settled in and with the progress they've made at Whitworth Community High School. Definitely the right choice!' Y7 parent June 2015. 'We think the ethos you are pushing throughout the school is great.' Y7 parents June 2016. 'Parents who responded to the (Ofsted) online questionnaire are overwhelmingly positive, with 100% of them saying they would recommend this school to another parent.' Ofsted 2015.
